What is Haiku? 俳句

In brief, Haiku is a traditional form of Japanese poetry that attempts to distill an observation or experience into the fewest words possible. The traditional format for this expression is three statements, the first having five syllables, the second seven and the third five.

Traditional Haiku usually contains a seasonal word so that the reader knows instinctively what season the poem is set in. This is not always held to, but

Haiku are constructed of two parts. Each part will almost stand on its own, but the second part should complete, explain, or benefit the first, and vice versa – a punchline of sorts.

Someday there may be an actual site here that has some real Haiku. In the meantime, try out some of these recipes that my friends and family tell me that they like the best.

I mainly use this site to demonstrate to potential clients some of the features of Big Medium, a great Content Management System (or CMS) that almost all of the domains that we host at Graphikhaus are built upon and managed by.
